The "itch" in the throat or hypopharyngeal tickling

The "itch" in the throat or hypopharyngeal tickling

Have you ever felt your throat tingle like an itch, without having a sore throat or other cold symptoms, and had to cough immediately afterwards?

What is it about?

This is a condition that can be triggered by previous or existing causes of upper airway diseases (laryngitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis, tonsillitis), allergies (food or fumes and substances), reflux, ingestion of food and/or or particularly hot liquids.

What can we do to alleviate this annoyance?

A very important thing is to take care of the hydration of the mucous membranes, therefore, it can be beneficial to drink small sips frequently, control the humidity of the air by possibly inserting a humidifier, and not consume very dry or drying foods (e.g. spicy foods). and foods/substances that could further irritate the mucous membranes, perhaps already subjected to irritation from other causes.
